Introduction To Dobro (Resonator Guitar)

The Dobro or resonator guitar is a super versatile instrument when you know how to play it. You can hear it in so many styles of music. Blues, Country, Bluegrass, Hawaiian even Jazz and Classical. There are basically two types, a square neck and a round neck. The round neck is a normal guitar with a metal resonator where the sound hole normally is and it is played like a guitar. The square neck is a bit different because the strings set very high above the neck. It is played like a steel guitar or slide guitar. Either one is quite awesome but the square neck is very unique the way it is tuned and played.
